Catching up: Our very own Eurospy is filming another TV show in the UK. The last show Maria Wynne did was picked up by BBC America, so  brace yourself!  What fun to have our own Eurospy beamed into our living rooms!

Eventer Phillip Dutton has been appointed President of the Board of Directors of The Professional Riders Organization. Our congratulations to him; we know he’ll do a great job.

WEG excitement for our friends from south of the border! We hear Mexico will be represented in dressage by Antonio Rivera, Bernadette Pujals, Jose Luis Padilla and Omary ZayrikMexico will present a team of four plus two individuals for eventing: Erik Arambula, Abraham Ojeda, Jaime Velasquez and Jose E. Mercado.  Competing individually are Carlos Cornejo and Daniela Moguel.

Thanks to the Davis family and Lendon Gray, the United States Dressage Federation hosted two educational sessions with Sport Psychologist, Dr. Jenny R. Susser, Ph.D., during the 2010 USDF/Platinum Performance North American Junior/Young Rider Dressage Championships at the Adequan FEI North American Junior/Young Rider Championships presented by Gotham North.

Todd Flettrich was unfortunately unable to compete in Fritzen during the beginning of his European tour this summer. His horse, Otto, arrived in Europe with a fever and a cough from shipping after a horrible trip and Todd was advised to cease all travel until the horse is back in top health. Otto is now in full work and feeling much better; plans included the Selection Trials in August.

Karin Offield is happily teaching and training, and reports that The Traverse City Dressage Week was a huge success with her client Nancy Williams winning two Dover Medals.

Lusitano Collection trainer, Heather Bender is off to Brazil for her quarterly junket to Interagro Lusitanos.  Heather gets to ride and participate in the selection process for the Lusitanos that are imported each year for the Annual Lusitano Collection Auction held each February in Palm Beach County. “TEAm uma grande viagem!” or in English : Have a great trip!

Matt Johnson checked in to say that he, Robert Dover, and Robert Ross rented a place for a week on Fire Island and spent the week of 4th of July there on vacation.  Robert Dover then flew back to Belgium to prepare his Canadian Team for the Aachen horse show.

Shameless commerce: What do you do if you work for a great company and just love their saddles, bridles and saddle pads?  If the company is World Equestrian brands and you are Robin Moore you buy the company! Congrats on taking over the reins at World Equestrian Brands, Robin. Now that you are the Big Cheese we expect even more great stuff coming!!!

Stillpoint Farm will be installing Ecotrack footing thanks to a sponsorship with Martin Collins LTD.  The installation will be complete on the 12th of August.  This footing has been showcased at some of the biggest European shows and is the home footing to a variety of top professionals.

Equestrian Of The Year expands to Massachusetts! Ariel Matisse and Nancy Lavoie (Later) are planning a fantastic fundraiser Sept. 11, at Oak Hill Farm in Pepperell, MA. Dressage riders Ariel, Jane Karoll and her daughter Hope, Mary Lauritsen as well as reiners Michelle Osborne and Jayne Mount and driver Stacey Ux are all on board for demonstrations! Face painting, crafts, pony rides for the kids and a silent auction to benefit the leukemia lymphoma society. This will kick off this season’s Equestrian of the Year competition that will include a dressage demonstration competition at the Players Club in January and their annual Cocktail party February 10.

Horses: Congratulations to Dianne Dudiak whose horse Zandiego U just won the Scandinavian 6 Year old championship in Falsterbo Sweden, (he also won the 5 year old class last year). Well done Dianne, and Linnea Ericsson of Denmark who rode him. Linnea and her dad Christer Ericsson found Zandy for Dianne as a youngster.

Write and ride: Renowned author and advocate for equine health, Jean Luc Cornille, has a new illustrated book out. Jean Luc explains with crystal clarity the severity of damages incurred by extended sessions of lunging. A must for every trainer, rider, and anyone that has ever loved a horse!
