Catching up:Knights to the rescue? For sure! We know Robin Sweely feels that way after her recent 'adventure' when her horses were shipping to Wellington. About 100 miles out, her van broke down. Peter Lane made some calls for Robin, and Shane Sweetnam leant his truck and trailer, and Chris Pasmore and Jerome, who were in town getting their farm opened for season, drove Shane's rig at 9 pm at night to rescue the horses from the side of the road. Again, it is nice to hear that fellow equestrians are willing to lend a hand to a friend in need. Wasn't it great to see Susie Webb at the Syracuse Sporthorse Invitational at the 125th National Horse Show in Syracuse? Susie was the Executive Director at the Washington International. Susie was working with Kiki Umla at the door on the stage. Susie, we love having you around - don't be a stranger. Did you catch the group at the PB Polo Golf House that was having lunch the other day? It was Henry Portner, local prominent attorney dining with the who's who of the Wellington real estate agents crowd - Mayli Garcia, Amy Carr, Martha Jolicoeur, Casey Flannery, Robert Ross, Joan (Nappy) Tranter, Ron Neal, and somehow Jenny Ross and Mason Phelps found themselves at the table as well. (We would have loved being a fly on the wall for that luncheon!) Peter Pletcher makes an awesome cheese cake, if you like the filling. However, his crust needs a little work, just ask him about it. Did you know that McLain Ward has sold his Wellington barn and house? Will Indio be seeing a lot more of our boy? Whatever the case, we're told that the last game of Spring Training for the New York Yankee's in Tampa will have a guest pitcher. McLain is going to through the first pitch! Wow, this will be an event worth watching. Talk about earning frequent flyer miles. Tracey Finney started her show week in Tyler, Texas, on Wednesday, then flew to Kansas City to jump there on Thursday night, flew back to Tyler to ride in the hunter derby on Friday afternoon, back to Kansas for the Saturday night grand prix, and the finally back to Tyler to show on Sunday in the Grand Prix at noon. My God, she is ambitious. On the Mend: Sorry to hear about Geoff Teall's recent surgery. We were happy to hear that he is on the mend and will be back at ringside in the very near future. It was great to see Gene Mische at Washington and Syracuse. He looks great and he is in great spirits. So for those of you who were wondering about Gene, yes, all is well and he will be in Wellington for the winter. Mason Phelps brought out his new orange pants at the 125th National Horse Show in Syracuse last week. They seemed to catch everyone's attention. But, when Tom Blankenship and Bobby Murphy both asked if they could get into his pants - boy did some heads turn! English Olympian Ben Maher couldn't say enough good things about his showing experience in America. He is planning on a return visit this winter and is even considering buying property in Wellington. And speaking of buying property in Wellington, we hear Olympian Darren Chiacchia has bought a residence in the Polo Club. George Morris is a traveling fool. Just ask him about his recent three day adventure in... | ||||||
